So, those of you who hopped on board because you liked what you saw about Alaska and our building adventures, please stay and give me a chance. For those of you who enjoyed my former writings with more opinion and less of the documentary style of late, I think you'll like what you'll see. If you're following this blog, post or email me privately and let me know what you think, where you'd like to see it go. My intent is to give you a mix of our daily lives, God, faith, family, friendship, veteran issues, cooking, Alaskan living, building, and political opinion. I hope to keep you entertained, amused, and maybe even give you something to think about. Here we go - hang on for the ride!
I live in Alaska and am a wife and mother of 5, homeschooler, conservative Christian, transplanted-from-other-places Alaskan. I love my God, my family, and my life. This is my story about finding myself, and who I am, in Alaska

Getting back to the business of blogging
Yep, here we go again - another long hiatus from blogging. I could use a lot of excuses but the truth of the matter is I've been sitting on the fence about what to do with this blog. I started it, at the suggestion of a friend and fellow blogger, because I like to write and take pics and had some interesting things to say. In the beginning I stuck with what I knew best - family and daily life. As I became more comfortable, I started venturing out into the world of political opinion. Mine is unique and yet like so many others. Finally, the blog became about God, family, life, and most recently our move to a more remote part of Alaska. I've picked up a nice following and readership through this last venture, but focusing on this building project alone was out of necessity in the beginning. Now I feel like I have more to say and want to get back to the business of more commentary.

You could pretty much list names from the local phone book and I'd read it. But that's just me. That aside: write what you love. The people will follow :)
ReplyDeleteI have followed your blog and your building a home with interest.
ReplyDeleteI spent an 8 day mission trip in Moose Pass, Ak in 2009 with my two teenage boys sleeping on cots in a church foing xome construction and hiking all over the place, meeting interesting people, helping others and just plain enjoying the remoteness and the ability to be "away" from everything and watching how much my citified boys lived it.
Left something there and have strong urges to return.
SO reading your blog has been enjoyable.
I agree with Camille. :)
