On to the rest of the house

The rest of the house is coming along, just like the kitchen and bath. Kitchen and bath work is labor intensive with wiring and plumbing and all. All that is really left to do in the rest of the house is wall treatments, floors, and some trim work. Tony has started putting up the wall treatments. It's a nice plank paneling and I think it's going to look great once it's stained. Check out these pics for more!

The stone hearth that I laid in while my father was here has been curing. Now that it's set, I am applying a wet-look sealant that will bring out the color of each stone

Here it is after the first couple of coats. I am still applying coats and it will be much richer when finished. I'll take another pic later on so you can see!

Tony framed the closet, and you can see we are already using it to store dirty laundry. Man, there is a lot of laundry!

There will be storage over the mud room, as it has an 8 foot ceiling like the bathroom, but the rest of the house has a cathedral ceiling. This will be the storage area, which will be closed in

Tyvek was applied to all the interior walls to hold in the insulation

Next, Tony applied furring strips, just like the ones outside, to mount the paneling as it comes in individual pieces rather than sheets

Here is the start of the living room wall! Nice!
