This is an article from about a month ago, reportedly originally from People Magazine. What I find refreshing is the governor's own admission that it took some time to get to a place of "understanding" about those with special needs. I have to say my own experience is the same. There are just some things that are difficult to fully understand unless you've "been there." Of course, there are so many people in our every day lives that positively influence the disability community, but there is nothing like the bond between and mother and child, and certainly between and mother and a child with special needs.
